Youth Summer Programs

PORCH Storytellers

Each week, PORCH Storyteller participants try a new art form and learn how different mediums affect how we tell stories. Participants will paint, draw, collage, write poetry, and more. Exact art forms dependent upon community volunteers.

For PORCH Storytellers, we partner with BikeWalk KC to provide all participants with bikes, helmets, and road safety training. No previous biking experience necessary.

Tell your story though art. Bike with friends.

Reel Collectors

Reel Collectors provides teens with “real time” training and access to film and storytelling software and equipment. During the summer, participants will be trained in filmmaking and storytelling then use those skills to create a short documentary film.

For PORCH Storytellers, we partner with BikeWalk KC to provide all participants with bikes, helmets, and road safety training. No previous biking experience necessary.

Support Reel Collectors

Merging entrepreneuship with filmmaking, Reel Collectors teaches storytelling and film skills. During the summer, up to 10 students work together to make a documentary film spotlighting a local business.

Local filmmakers and creatives are always welcome to run topical workshops, plus we always need PAs and volunteers!
