Try-A-Visit: Find your Early Head Start Fit
A free 90 minute visit with Cara Cooper, Early Head Start Coordinator, to help your family decide if home visits are right for you.
Thursdays at the
Central Branch of the Kansas City Public Library.
Early Head start
Our federally funded Early Head Start program prepares children for pre-school. EHS enrolls parents and families with children ages 0-3 years old. During 90-minute weekly home visits, Parent Coaches provide families with holistic support to advocate for their families’ needs and to assist babies and toddlers in meeting developmental milestones.
Families participating in our Early Head Start Program:
–receive assistance with diapers and wipes
–receive weekly newsletters with tips, resources, and activity
ideas
–attend bi-weekly playgroups and monthly Parent Cafés
–resource referrals and limited financial assistance with utilities
and groceries

Nurturing Parenting
Our Nurturing Parenting Program enrolls prenatal families and families with children 1 month to 5 years. Funded locally, Nurturing Parenting emphasizes family, parent, and child health, wellness, and safety. Participating families can choose the frequency of their 60-minute home visits with our Parent Coaches.
Families participating in our Nurturing Parenting Program:
–receive assistance with diaper and wipes
–receive weekly newsletters with tips, resources, and activity
ideas
–receive home safety equipment (cabinet locks, stove covers,
etc.) as needed
–attend bi-weekly playgroups and monthly Parent Cafés
