First LEGO League Robotics

Our Robotics Program uses FIRST LEGO League with 4th, 5th and 6th grade students. The program is built around theme-based Challenges to engage in research, problem solving, coding, and engineering. The foundation of the program are the FIRST Core Values, which emphasize teamwork, discovery, and innovation. Students emerge more confident, excited, and equipped with the skills they need in a changing workforce.

Partners in Active Learning, or PALs, is a mentor program designed to provide academic support for Faxon Elementary School students. PALs help specifically with reading and math skills while also providing the benefit of a caring, consistent adult mentor. Some also assist the teacher in the classroom.

Teens in Tech

Teens in Tech links youth with skilled mentors who have developed customized, culturally appropriate curricula in basic computing, graphic design, programming, application development, and workplace behaviors. The program helps adolescents and young adults attain lifelong technological skills, knowledge, and confidence, leading to college and workplace readiness, by providing “real time” training and access to the most current equipment and software. Classes also provide an introduction to new career paths and possibilities.
